What to expect from WPRF and PRAXIS

India is the host country for the 11th edition of World Public Relations Forum (WPRF). What makes #WPRF2023 an event platform worth blocking your calendars for, is that it is taking place jointly with PRAXIS – the world’s largest residential communications summit, from 21st to 23rd September 2023 at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, India.

First, let’s get to know more about WPRF and PRAXIS

WPRF provides an open and diverse platform for public relations and communications practitioners from across the globe to meet, discuss, reflect, and advance the profession. It takes place once in 2 years and before pandemic, it was held in Oslo in 2018. The theme for this edition is Building Goodwill for Greater Good, How the world is changing PR and how PR should change the world, Responsible Communication – Your reputation, your influence, your role.

PRAXIS is a signature event in the calendar of an Indian reputation management professional. Over 650 professionals attend this annual summit – which is held in a new Indian city every year and has never repeated speakers since its inception. The theme for its 10th edition is “Reputation Management – The Big Picture”. The thrusts will be on CommsTech, ESG, Metaverse, Blockchain, Influencer Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Community Building among others.

Here is what you can expect from WPRF and PRAXIS:

These three exciting days of high value learning via 20 enriching sessions by global speakers from across the world will leave you with an amazing experience to carry forward.

Expect to learn, share, network and engage.

You will have the chance to network with over 650 PR professionals in one room. Make time for small breaks and lunch time chats. There will be breaks after every two sessions, which, you should maximize for networking. You could learn a lot from chatting with other delegates. This is truly a chance to enhance your cross-cultural communication.

Public Relations is all about establishing goodwill between the organisation and its various stakeholders, i.e., employees, clients, and media. For doing this, PR practitioners must be adaptive to everything in the process of creating goodwill. There will be so much to learn on this theme from the experienced speakers. We recommend you keep a pen and scribble pad handy – it never goes out of fashion!

Entertainment filled three nights – After each power packed day, there will be an equally energising entertainment night, the first one being an all-woman music band which is one of its kinds. Enjoy your cocktail hour with these performances. We rather let the moments surprise you and not give out much here 😊

Group picture – A ritual almost! There will be a group picture at 3:00 pm on Day 2, marking the close of WPRF and start of PRAXIS. It is a THING we follow here and yes; we make sure the entire group gets clicked.

Smile, for its Chennai – your host city. It is the capital of Tamil Nadu, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the southern fringes of India. Located on the Coromandel Coast, this busy metropolis is a city of ancient temples, vibrant arts, natural wonders, and bustling culinary scene. You will have a lot on your list to see, visit, shop and eat. Chennai is better known for its Silk sarees, Tanjore paintings and temples. Do make time for all of it!
